GLEN ROCK -- An empty bullet shell casing was found in a classroom at the borough middle school Friday, prompting a lockdown at the building, officials said.
The casing was discovered in a second floor classroom and turned over to officials, the school district said in a statement. Local police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office responded to sweep the building.
A sheriff's K-9 unit found nothing in a check of lockers, the statement said. Officials also ordered a lockdown at the high school, which is in the same building.

"The police department determined there is no imminent danger," the district's statement said.
