For early tailgaters, it will be a nippy morning Sunday, so bundle up.
If you're heading to MetLife Stadium on Sunday to see the Jets take on the Miami Dolphins, you should expect a cold morning and a fairly chilly afternoon with lots of clouds in the sky -- but no risk of rain.
KICKOFF WEATHER OUTLOOK
For early tailgaters, it will be a nippy morning, so bundle up. The high will only be 41 degrees at 9 a.m. and the temperature will slowly climb to 47 by noon. There should be a slight breeze, but hardly any wind chill, according to AccuWeather.
PLUS: Complete coverage of the Jets
At kickoff time, around 1 p.m., the temperature should be about 48 degrees, rising to 50 at 2 p.m., then falling back to 48 at 3 p.m. and 47 at 4 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies throughout the afternoon. A light breeze, about 7 mph, should linger throughout the game.
WHAT TO WEAR
Our recommendation: Dress in layers. Start with a long-sleeved T-shirt, thermal shirt or flannel shirt, topped with a hooded sweatshirt. Cover that with a light winter jacket. Don't forget your Jets jersey over that, if there's any room. You can always remove one layer if you're feeling toasty.
Bring a pair of light gloves, and wear a wool hat if you're not into hoods. For your feet, thick shoes or boots tend to be warmer than sneakers. And wear thick socks.
BLANKETS ALLOWED
For fans who get cold easily, you'll be happy to know you are allowed to bring a blanket or carry an extra jacket into MetLife Stadium, but those items could be searched for security reasons.
