The Shops at Riverside mall was evacuated Saturday after a bomb threat at the Hackensack Avenue shopping center, according to authorities.
HACKENSACK -- The Shops at Riverside mall was reopened after a bomb threat forced an evacuation at the complex Saturday afternoon, officials said.
A note with the threat was found in a bathroom at the mall around 2 p.m., the Bergen County Sheriff's Office said.
A bomb sweep of the facility found nothing harmful, according to the sheriff's office. Shoppers were allowed back in about two hours later.
Traffic was initially diverted from Hackensack Avenue to Route 4, the sheriff's office said.
Heavy traffic delays were reported on Route 4 and Hackensack Avenue near the mall Saturday afternoon.
